Trash Drumming - drumming on rain barrels

What sounds strange at first has meanwhile become one of the most successful musical projects offered in schools in Rhineland-Palatinate. The students - who until then had been musically inexperienced - drum in multiple voices using the simplest of means. The repertoire includes hot samba rhythms, demanding mambo and shuffle grooves as well as more difficult rock rhythms. The methodical as well as the pedagogical and didactical basics of drumming independently with children and teenagers are taught in the course. Of course, the focus is on the participants' own rhythmic activities. Teachers from all types of schools are invited, as well as educators who work with children and young people in various contexts and all drumming enthusiasts.

Teaching team:

Alex Sauerländer was a speaker at the Bundesmusikschulkongress 2011 in Mainz and at the Bundeskongress Musikunterricht 2016 in Koblenz. He inspired his participants with his present appearance and the very practical concept with which he can move the students to amazing performances. One of his AGs is a Schängelpreis and Springboard winner and also made himself known nationwide through a live performance at "SWR on Tour" in front of an additional 450,000 TV viewers.
