Cajón construction workshop

in the workshop in Halsenbach

Build a cajón yourself? Moreover, an instrument that puts every kit box in the shade? Under the guidance and supervision of the Cajón manufacturer Christoph Franzen, high-quality instruments are produced, this time for the first time with a screwed striking surface, which is also dyed. With a maximum of six participants, the individual parts will also be largely made in the workshop itself using professional tools, and the surface treatment will also be carried out individually. The course will take place in the Klangspiel workshop in Halsenbach.

Please bring along: A lot of team spirit! Work clothes, ear protection, dust mask - it will be loud and dusty at times!

When registering, you can choose between a Cajón with 46 or 49 cm height.

Teaching team:

Christoph Franzen, a trained carpenter and graduate geographer, began to build cajóns and develop his own instrument variants autodidactically in 2006. The high demands placed on sound and workmanship quality as well as the fundamental innovative spirit have in the meantime brought international attention to MANUFAKTUR KLANGspiel Christoph Franzen. The instruments from Halsenbach are also successfully used in the field of music education. Beside its activity as Cajónbauer Christoph Franzen plays guitar and Cajón in two volume.
