Teaching music with the Moodle online platform
Online seminar in cooperation with BMU RLP
What until a few weeks ago was at best an additional medium for most music teachers at secondary schools in the teaching of subject content and skills has now become part of everyday life for many. Moodle is the official learning platform of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, through which learning opportunities are currently made available online to children and young people at most schools.
This course is about making various functions and tools of the platform manageable for immediate use: Providing material, setting links and references, creating and evaluating tests and examinations, creating interactive media (e.g. learning videos) yourself and linking them to tasks, organizing classroom discussions as live chats, etc. In doing so, the didactic questions that are of particular interest to the subject of music will also be addressed: How can curriculum areas be covered creatively and meaningfully using Moodle lessons? How can the social fabric of the class community be cultivated in online lessons?
The course takes place online. Some of the communication and work will be done directly on Moodle and some via Zoom. Participating teachers need an online workstation (preferably laptop/PC), Moodle access, and a Moodle course in which they have instructor privileges. Usually this is provided through the respective school. Technical questions or problems are best clarified in advance.
This course is particularly suitable for teachers who have had little experience with Moodle.
An advanced course for participants of the beginners' course and for teachers who already have basic knowledge of Moodle is planned and can be scheduled at short notice if there is sufficient demand. This course will focus on tests, H5P, html tags and special features like groups.
This course is recognized by the Pädagogisches Landesinstitut Rheinland-Pfalz under Az. MA.2076 as serving official interests.
