Daniel Ackermann, born in 1976, received his first musical lessons at the age of 7, initially focusing on the piano. At the age of 9 he discovered his passion for the trumpet. In 1994 he became a junior student at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz with Prof. Malte Burba, before becoming a full student there in 1997. During this period, until 1999, he toured with the European Youth Symphonic Wind Orchestra (1996 & 1998), gave his first solo concerts with organ & piano, took part in a course at the Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz, and participated in the Landes-Jugend-Ensemble für Neue Musik-Rheinland-Pfalz. In 1999, Ackermann changed to the Cologne University of Music.
Until 2004 - in which year he successfully completed his studies with Prof. Urban Agnas - extracurricular studies and master classes led him to the greats of his field, such as Prof. James Thompson (Eastman School of Music New York), Prof. Jens Lindemann (University of California), Michael Sachs (Cleveland Orchestra), Manfred Bockschweiger (Staatstheater Darmstadt), Friedemann Immer (Musikhochschule Köln) Gabor Tarkövi (Berliner Philharmoniker), Prof. Matthias Höfs (Musikhochschule Hamburg), Prof. Reinhold Friedrich (Musikhochschule Karlsruhe).
Daniel Ackermann has gained orchestral experience at the Theater Trier, the Cologne Opera, the Orchestra Academy of North Rhine-Westphalia, l'Orchestre des Jeunes de la Grande Region, the Classical Philharmonic Bonn, the Rhenish Philharmonic Koblenz, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra, the German Wind Philharmonic and the Wind Philharmonic South-West.
Solo concerts with different orchestras (for example Sinfonietta Mainz or Dvorak-Symphony Orchestra Prague), as well as again and again with organ and piano (among others at the Mosel-Musik-Festival), enrich his musical work as well as the cooperation with different brass ensembles or excursions into jazz and rock & pop music, here among others with Thomas Anders, Sahne-Mixx, Django Reinhard and Band, Menino or the MJ-Big-Band. In 2006 Ackermann was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association and completed his studies until 2007 at the Conservatoire de la Musique Luxembourg with Roman Zaremba. His concert activities have taken him on tours throughout Europe and the USA.
