Pipe making course oboe

Making an oboe reed yourself that is ready to play is a difficult undertaking. The techniques for making a "good" reed should be practised and the movements automated. The focus is on building a reed from scratch and making modifications to almost finished or purchased reeds to suit personal needs. Under precise guidance, "knife guidance" and "fault and defect rectification" are practised in particular. It will be shown that response, intonation etc. are not left to arbitrariness but can be specifically influenced. The course is not intended to change the individual reed making style, but to achieve better results through tips and tricks. Pipe making tools (knife, tongue, cutter, wire, Teflon tape, sleeves, lampholders etc.) should be brought along.
