Play and repeat??! Piano improvisation days

Improvising on jazz standards, folk songs and pop songs is one of the most important skills for music teachers today. But improvisation is also playing an increasingly important role in instrumental teaching.

This course is designed for those who want to start improvising and for those who want to deepen their knowledge of piano improvisation.

The variation and renewal of well-known musical patterns of all kinds will therefore be the focus of the course work. There are no limits to imagination and templates (e.g. pictures, text and tone series).

Lessons during the course will be in an open format (for course participants only), allowing for mutual observation for further input and inspiration.

Teaching team:	The three lecturers Christopher Miltenberger, Helmut Lörscher and Laurens Patzlaff, who have accompanied the course from the beginning, are professors at the music academies in Mainz, Freiburg and Lübeck. The young, multi-award-winning jazz pianist Johanna Summer completes the trio of lecturers. All lecturers are among the most internationally renowned specialists in piano improvisation. They each pursue individual improvisational approaches, with which they have made an excellent name for themselves not only in the field of jazz.
