The jazz workshop is intended for brass and woodwind enthusiasts, bass players (double and electric bass) and guitarists (or other harmony instruments).

It is intended for musicians of all ages and skill levels who want to learn the basics of jazz musicianship or deepen their skills.

The workshop will cover instrumental technique, jazz improvisation and harmony, as well as ensemble playing.

In the jazz evening at the end of the course, the instructor trio will perform together with suitable course participants.

Teaching team:

Ralph "Mosch" Himmler studied jazz trumpet in Hilversum. Mosch is a member of numerous well-known jazz formations and teaches at the Musikhochschule Saarbrücken, among other places.


Christian Eckert studied jazz guitar in Holland in the early 1990s before moving to New York to study at the New School and play with musicians on the scene. He has recorded numerous CDs, including a trio with Seattle-based drummer Matt Jorgensen and saxophonist Steffen Weber.


Johannes Schaedlich studied both classical bass and jazz. He has won prizes in numerous competitions and is now very successful as a teacher, adjudicator and jazz musician, as evidenced by numerous records and CD recordings.
