Piano intensive

with prof. Sheila Arnold

The course is aimed at ambitious young pianists, music students and advanced amateurs.

Sheila Arnold belongs to the new generation of pianists who feel equally at home on the modern concert grand and the fortepiano. Questions of sound aesthetics and "musical sound speech" in the sense of historically informed performance practice form an essential element of her playing and teaching. The physical, the breathing and the concept of resonance on the other hand are complementary to this.

Teaching in a workshop atmosphere is the aim. In addition to the individual lessons, there will be internal auditions in the evenings as well as a public final concert at Pianohaus Thilemann in Neuwied to test what has been worked out.

Teaching team:

Sheila Arnold is professor at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. Many of her students are national and international prize winners and have been honoured with a variety of scholarships and awards.

Prof. Sheila Arnold regularly gives international master classes. Outstanding successes at international competitions such as the Mozart Competition in Salzburg or the Concours Clara Haskil as well as numerous scholarships and awards such as the Mozart Prize of the Mozart Society Wiesbaden in 1995 contributed significantly to her international concert activity as a soloist in recitals, with orchestras and as a chamber music partner. In January 2016, her latest CD with works by Franz Schubert was released by Cavi-Music and received enthusiastic reviews.
