Small Percussion

In this workshop, different types of small percussion instruments from the Latin and pop genres will be presented and you will learn how to use them effectively in music.

Differences and similarities will be explored to find out how they can be used in music. Different techniques specific to each instrument will also be demonstrated to get the best out of them.

By the end of this workshop there will be a deeper understanding of these often overlooked instruments to be able to integrate them into your own musical projects.

The workshop is aimed at teachers at general education schools and music schools who want to use small percussion in lessons, as well as anyone who is simply enthusiastic about rhythms and wants to get active themselves. No previous knowledge is required.

The workshop includes basics and playing techniques, the development of basic rhythms and the musical realisation of what has been developed.

The instruments used include claves, güiro, maracas, shakers, tambourines and triangles.
