The ukulele in primary school and secondary level 1

UKU & LELE - the ukulele class. Simply play the ukulele by colour. The concept based on Boomwhacker colours teaches children the basics of song accompaniment and melody playing. Clear and colourful chord symbols and tablatures support direct implementation on the instrument. This guarantees quick success even without prior knowledge of sheet music.

You will get to know the concept of the ukulele class. You will play your first chords to accompany songs as well as polyphonic accompaniments on the ukulele. Knowledge of the ukulele is not a prerequisite, but you will enjoy trying out and familiarising yourself with new aspects of music teaching. You will learn the principles of teaching in a large group, the conceptual considerations for the school ukulele and the didactic structure of a ukulele class, get to know the possibilities of open and self-directed learning and practising as well as options for a differentiated musicalisation process. In addition, aspects of interdisciplinary and interlinking work as well as the use of individualised documentation in the music portfolio are presented. Ways are shown how music lessons with ukuleles can be adapted to local circumstances and how they can be integrated into school curricula.
