Groovy Strings

Workshop for string players with integrated further training for music teachers

Pop, rock, jazz or world music are part of the daily listening experience. So it makes sense not only to listen to music from these different areas, but also to play it. In the string orchestra and in smaller ensembles, pieces and arrangements are rehearsed for the joint final concert. The topics of stylistics, rhythm and groove, phrasing, percussion and special playing techniques on the instruments will be explained and applied. The course is designed for teachers and students from about 12 years old. Knowledge of various fingerings in the 1st position is considered a minimum requirement. However, enough material will be provided to be of interest to advanced students as well. Teachers will gain additional insight into teaching methodology and arranging strategies of the instructors.
