Music in Advertising and Film - Starting Points for Practical Music Lessons in Secondary School I

in cooperation with BMU RLP

Music as a cultural phenomenon is omnipresent - in advertising, in film and in the media. This course uses tried-and-tested teaching modules to demonstrate a variety of ways in which students can consciously learn about the function and effect of music, develop techniques and aspects of film music, and use this knowledge for their own projects. Basic functionalities of open-source programs for music production and editing and their possible applications in the classroom are demonstrated.
The curriculum provides for the realization of one musical project per school year. In the context of the advanced training, starting points are shown that offer students an active and self-acting examination in such projects. The focus is on the musical processes of the students, which enable aesthetic experiences in a special way and stimulate an examination of musical culture.
