in cooperation with JAZZ RLP
Are you a jazz musician aged between 18 and 35 — whether you perform as a solo artist, in a duo or as part of a band — and wondering how to authentically embody your music on stage? Then this weekend is for you.
How do you create a concert that truly moves an audience? This workshop weekend combines artistic reflection, concert design and performance feedback into a collaborative process. Over two days, we’ll explore questions relating to artistic identity, stage presence and authentic performance — with space for discussion, inspiration and practical ideas for your own artistic practice.
Saturday: Artist Identity What defines you as an artist? What values and attitudes shape your music — and how does this manifest itself on stage? In the workshop with Rixa, you’ll explore your artistic identity creatively and develop a sense of direction for your future path. In the evening, all acts will give a concert where initial ideas can be tried out straight away.
Sunday: Concert Design Concerts are more than just music — they create atmosphere, connection and experiences. On Sunday, we’ll reflect together on the previous evening’s concerts. The focus will be on stage presence, dramaturgy, communication and authenticity. Through feedback, discussion and coaching insights, you’ll develop new perspectives on your performance and concrete ideas for future gigs.

Rixa Knaack-Meyer
For several years now, she has been working on a freelance basis for various acts and pop agencies in the fields of concert design and artist development, providing feedback on concerts and writing press releases. She has combined her experience in directing and theatre with her passion for (pop) music and her upbringing in the music industry. She provides artists with a framework within which they can visualise, develop and promote their artistic profile. Her external perspective on the bigger picture enables her to provide musicians with concrete feedback that takes into account both their own aspirations and the audience’s perspective. Her work is interdisciplinary in nature, meaning that other artistic elements are constantly incorporated, thereby creating something unique. |
