From this year onwards, the almost legendary Vocal Summer Class is also open to individual singers of all voice types. Existing a cappella groups – ideally comprising between 3 and 12 singers and working without a conductor – will be mentored by the internationally renowned ensemble Singer Pur. New this year is the support of Prof. Erik Sohn. The former vocal coach of the Wise Guys will bring all participating singers together to form a choir, from which new ensembles may well emerge. The exchange between all the tutors and the work within the groups and in the tutti will also be exciting. Upon request, the "Friends of Landesmusikakademie" offer a 50% discount on the course fee.

Since its debut concert in March 1992, Singer Pur - in its original line-up five former Regensburger Domspatzen and a soprano - has developed into one of the leading international a cappella formations. The current line-up consists of

Erik Sohn grew up in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance, studied Music and Germanistik in Cologne. After receiving his Staatsexamen (state examination diploma), he went on to study Vocal Arts with Prof. Berthold Schmid in Dortmund. In addition to his active career as a Classic Concert Singer, Erik Sohn is also in high demand in the field of Popular Vocal Music, where he works as a Coach for vocal ensembles, a-capella bands and choirs. He's been working as a teacher of this field since 2006. Since 2011 he's a professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Kön (Academy of Music and Dance Cologne). Together with Stephan Görg, he is the head of the Jazz-Pop choir "Vocal Journey" and the initiator of the annual festival for Popular Vocal Music "voc.cologne" which takes place in January.
