Song, Opera, Oratorio



Singing talents and advanced singers whose goal is to be soloists in a smaller setting are invited. The instructors will teach in individual lessons and in plenum the songs and arias brought by the participants. In the plenum, Andreas Wagner will accompany.
Each year there is one compulsory piece. Both the solo and choral parts corresponding to the vocal range should be prepared for the course.

The required pieces for this course are “Recordare” (p. 28) and “Benedictus” (p. 61) from Mozart’s Requiem. Please review and learn the respective solo part.

Another piece for the women, though optional, is the Elven Chorus from Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream for 2 solos and tutti (pp. 29–37).

Teaching team:

Hans Christoph Begemann is one of today's most versatile and adventurous lieder singers. The Hamburg-born baritone has sung at international festivals and repeatedly received the German Record Critics' Award. He is a professor at the Mainz University of Music.
Anne Lünenbürger studied singing at the Karlsruhe University of Music. From 1995 to 2008, she was a member of the ensemble at the Nuremberg State Theatre and has been a Bavarian Kammersängerin ever since. She teaches at the music academies in Mainz and Karlsruhe.
Andreas Wagner studied church music and singing in his home town of Stuttgart. As a lyric tenor, he has had engagements in Würzburg, Wuppertal and Darmstadt. He is active as a song accompanist and gives organ concerts.
