The course is primarily aimed at participants in the 2026 “Jugend musiziert” competition for equal and mixed brass ensembles as well as mixed woodwind and brass ensembles. Prospective students and students are also cordially invited. In addition to preparing for the competition, participants will also work on brass fundamentals, repertoire, interpretation and various practice methods.

Markus Schwind is a certified orchestral musician and music educator. He studied with Malte Burba, Guy Touvron, Markus Stockhausen and Peter Eötvös, among others. For more than 15 years Markus Schwind has dedicated himself to chamber music and orchestral playing on the international stage. With stylistic breadth ranging from early, especially baroque music to the music of our time, he performs with renowned ensembles and orchestras under the direction of Pierre Boulez, Sylvain Cambreling, Ingo Metzmacher and Kent Nagano, among others. In 2015/16 he followed invitations as principal trumpet of the Bavarian State Orchestra Munich, the Bochumer Sinfoniker and the Belgian ensemble Anima Eterna, among others. Markus Schwind has experience as a course lecturer at several universities and teaches at the Landesmusikgymnasium RLP.
Andreas Frese studied piano and song accompaniment with Ria Goetze and Irwin Gage in Düsseldorf and Zurich. In addition to lied interpretation with singers such as Christoph Prégardien and others, chamber music is his main focus, including with the Trio Ganymede.
